Why Defence chaplains carry Bibles, not guns
Whether on the front line with Australian troops or working with military personnel and their families, Defence Force chaplains like Uniting Church minister Rev Charles Vesely are a potent reminder that the end state of conflict is always peace. Read more about Charles' chaplaincy in this article.

Prayer for the Presbytery & Synod meeting
All Uniting Church members are encouraged to pray for those attending the upcoming Presbytery and Synod meeting, which will be held from 23-25 November at Adelaide West Uniting Church. This meeting will include conversations about several topics on which members hold differing views, including marriage. Two pastoral statements from the Uniting Church SA Moderator and CEO/General Secretary were released earlier this week in relation to the meeting and these conversations. Read more about the call to prayer and the statements here.
